We did this activity
last Friday. Memo, Linda and I are going to talk about Music in Seattle, we
thought this is a great topic because people in here love music.
First we were
waiting to talk to someone but my other classmates didn’t want to stop talking with the natives haha.
We started with the other group teacher (I don’t remember her name, but we call
her: “La del gorrito”) who is ver nice and spreaded us her joy. We asked her
what she thought about music and she said she knows a few festivals, she tolds
us that nowadays young people prefer listen to rap and rock.
Then we talked
to Alex he was the most shy of all, the interview was very short and he
practically told us the same. After that we talk to our tecaher Frieda. She said she didn’t know much of music, but she provided
great info, then we interviewed Nancy who is a mexican girl she spoke about
her, and she said her parents are from Guanajuato and she studied Social Work
and now she’s doing a Master in Public Administration in UW.
Finally we met
David and he was the best!! Haha. He told us that he likes Banda music a very
famous genre in México but as he really likes guns he said he loves Gangster
Banda o as we call them in Mexico. “corridos” because the lyrics of this songs
usually talks about guns and dead.
We have much
info to do our Project and now is time to plan an activity out of classroom
like go to a concert or bar where musicians play. I like this topic, I think
we’ll have a lot of fun!!
Hi Monica. It was great to talk with native speakers and we got a lot of information about our topics too, So let's work!!!
ReplyDeleteMoni: it was a great opportunity to speak to native speakers and listen to different accents. It was a meaningful activity. Your topic is really interesting :)
ReplyDeleteThat's really interesting Moni! I am glad as well because of having conversation with different people and to distinguish cadence in English language.
